NATIONAL APPEARANCE. Direction of Power and New Opportunities

Vilnius

2014

EXISTENCE within... as if already existed here... Bright, airy... and calm Space and objects create harmony, and movement is Me In the interior and furniture exhibition at the Litexpo center, another spatial composition-interior was created during the spring New Year, hinting at the remembered space. The theme revealed: National Appearance. Direction of Power and New Opportunities. Yes, everyday spaces, rooms, as ordinary places of being... and/or is it possible to slide from the everyday towards existence through the creativity of interior space, furniture, and other objects. A new interior or outdoor architectural space, like a dream-born form... What dimensions to start with in architectural discourse? cm, m2, m3? Maybe not immediately. I think Intuition. From intuition to the key from the beginning; then the dimensions of the Sun, the Tree, and the Human. Then probably altars... A three-layer architectural-mythological structure was created in the exhibition space, focusing on our heritage, present creativity, and future possibilities. The concept of the exhibition is to reflect the past, present, and future, using the Lithuanian language, national scripts, and works of art. The internal structure is dominated by lightness - white wooden structures, draped in fabric, hang in space, as well as the plank floors raised above the ground by several tens of centimeters, underneath which lighting is installed, streaming through the cracks, creating a light latticework and a sense of floating in the air, and becomes a metaphorical reference to the hillfort. Heavy or literal national stylistic motifs are avoided, great attention is paid to lighting and reflections of light. Candle flames, emerging from the past, are transformed into the future in a mirrored structure. The main accent, a large white-covered table standing in the middle, reminds us that the most important ritual is family and friends gathering and sharing. Author Mantas Maziliauskas The interior was presented by the magazine "Namas ir Aš"
